Why open source matters for a resume tool

A resume holds your contact details and your work history. With the source public, anyone can check that the app keeps drafts in local browser storage, that it has no account system, and that it does not upload your resume anywhere. You do not have to take the privacy claims on trust.

It also means the app cannot hold your data hostage. The JSON export format is documented in the code, so your resumes stay portable even if you stop using the hosted site.

What is in the repository

  • A React 19 and TanStack Start web app with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui components.
  • A single Zustand workspace store shared by the dashboard, editor, preview, and AI tools.
  • 25 print-ready resume templates rendered from the same data model, with real multi-page pagination.
  • Capacitor projects for the Android and iOS apps, with native PDF download and share.
  • The WebMCP tool catalog that lets AI agents drive the app.
  • Vitest tests for the workspace model, preview adapter, and agent tools.

Run it locally

You need Node.js and pnpm. Clone the repository, install dependencies, and start the dev server:

git clone https://github.com/Nikhil1920/resumes.git
cd resumes
pnpm install
pnpm dev

pnpm build produces the web build, and pnpm build:capacitor produces the bundle used by the native apps. The README lists the other scripts, including type checking, tests, and SEO verification.
